Edit after all this time, they did change Holy Grail RY4, V2 is a good RY4 but lost some of the complexity that made me fall in love with HGRY4 in the first place. It did get a bit creamier but also a bit sweeter. I might at some point release a fix for it, till then RIP HHGRY4 you are already missed, well you will be when the last of this 30 odd ounces of the original is gone ;)

I can keep revising recipes for months if not years as I get bored with a really good profile and do something different with it. Gonna release this one before I change it again. :) I have three favorite "RY4" concentrates. The original from Hangsen holds a special place in my heart, RY4 Double from TFA does as well but it tends to be on the harsh side for me. Lastly, Holy Grail RY4 from DIYFS is near to perfect for me but suffers from what all RY4s do, (in my opinion)... NOT ENOUGH TOBACCO

A simple, delectable desert tobacco.

Holy Grail RY4, one of my absolute favorite RY4s, heavy on the warm creamy caramel, heavy on the vanilla. used a bit heavy here to get the "warm creamy caramel" to the front.
FLV Red Burley, I absolutely love this concentrate. It is one of the handful of tobacco concentrates that are not NETs that I feel truly compares to a single varietal test to the actual tobacco it is named after. This is an odd concentrate, it comes in STRONG and true as a shake and vape, then dies off over a week, coming back in week two of the steep, less strong but way more nuance.
FLV Kentucky Blend, this is a really good analog cigarette concentrate, used a bit low here for a very slight smoky ash without having to use a TA. This can be left out completely but I feel it adds a nice note.

The pairing of the two FLV tobaccos here is to amplify and authenticate the little bit of tobacco that Holy Grail has. If I am going to long steep a bottle of this >3 weeks I bump the FLV Tobaccos up to double what they are here. Not that they fade away but at double what they are they maintain a stronger presence outside of the 3 week steep.

This is a really good shake and vape (by my definition, at least let it sit over night after vigorous shaking), it does change significantly over the next 14 days hitting it's peak of meld and nuance at that point. If you are a desert tobacco lover give this one a shot in a larger mix to experience the change in profile and nuance. I listed 60 vg as ideal as I feel tobaccos benefit from a bit higher PG, but it is also really good at my max VG percentage of 70. This is really good in any flavor atty/tank, different coil types and airflow will accentuate different aspects of the profile immensely.

Damn, this is incredible. Already planning to mix up a huge bottle so I won't have to be without it. Can't wait to see how it changes as it steeps- if I can leave it alone long enough! Bravo.

One of the best tobacco I tried, my ADV in rotation for years. Hope Fear will add new recipes

This is so good! Cardinal is still one of my ADV... With just 3 ingredients, it looks so simple, but it's a delicious tobacco mix. The Kentucky Blend and Red Burley ratio is also very useful in other recipes. Classic! Well done @Fear

Magnificent is the only word a think of when vaping this....it's simple but so gooooood! In fact I have a squonk mod and a rda dedicated only to this mix.

I've vaped this everyday, all day for over a year and a half. It's perfect. Sometimes I don't notice the flavor anymore because it's always in my pocket. But at least once a day I still get a hit that blows me away. If you like tobacco or are interested in trying it, this is the one.

I've been mixing for three years and this just replaced my ADV of 2 of those years. Made a 30 and it won't last 7 days let alone 3 weeks to steep. Mixing up a 120 now. Way to go fear. This should be one of BCF's community recipe packs.

This vape just says nostalgia. Brings me back to Sundays reading a newspaper, drinking a dessert coffee, and having a smoke. I'm not really a tobacco guy so I probably can't vape this all day. However I sure do make sure I have a tank ready to go for certain times of the day where I just want to sit back and indulge in me-time. Took Fear's advice and doubled the tobacco and mixed up a big batch for a 2 month long steep. This was my intro into DIY mixing. Thanks for that. 1/16/19 Edit - I blew through my month long steep batch of 240mls and now tapping into my 2 month long steep batch. I can't put this down. I got a dedicated squonker just for this recipe and started falling into a tobacco rabbit hole.

So, whipped up a 60 of this and been sucking it down slowly ever since. It started with vanilla caramel with the barest hint of chocolate. Somewhere around day 7, it shifted and the tobaccos came forward in a huge way, adding a simultaneous bright woodiness and dark earthiness that is just sublime, with that hint of cocoa fading out. Now, at day 17, it's a perfect caramel and vanilla wrapped up in tobacco. Got coworkers thinking i'm hitting a waffle cone, and their jaws drop when i go "Nope, dessert tobacco." Seriously, this bad boy is a must mix, and really, you should make a big ass batch, minimum of 60 ml. You can notice the changes, and it just keeps getting better. Get you some.

This recipe is nothing short of amazing. I love it straight off the shake for about a week and then from 3 weeks onwards. Morning coffee paired with a vape of this and you're in for a good day!

Love this. Fresh, I love the chocolate note that red burley brings. It's a little harsh fresh but that chocolate note blends with the vanilla in the RY4 and seems super creamy for me and sits beautifully right on top of the tobaccos. After about 10 days that chocolate note fades into the background and I'm left with the perfect tobacco forward RY4. The caramel is sweet and dark. The vanilla brightens that caramel up a bit. Then underneath is a well balanced tobacco combo that fits the profile perfectly. Great job! This should be a EVERYONE'S perfect RY4.

Delicious recipe. This is the first tobacco recipe I have tried and I am addicted to it. It's light and delicate but complex at the same time. I wouldn't mind the flavour to be bolder but I don't know if that would ruin what is so good about it.

This stuff is amazing. I thought I wasn't a tobacco vaper but this recipe changed my mind. I am now sliding so fast down the tobacco rabbit hole it's not even funny. I am trying to make my first bottle last 14 days so I can follow the changes but it is so hard. I have 7 tanks I rotate through because I love variety, but this is all I want to vape! I have had to force myself to only vape one tank every few days to make it last. I mixed a 240 with the double FLV percentages for a long steep so I never have to be without this flavor or ration myself once I've observed the nuance change in my initial 30 mL. Excellent job! Thank you for giving this to the community. But grrr at you for the rabbit hole!!

Thanks for sharing this! Now I feel like I can finally quit mucking about trying to find the perfect tobacco blend. This is the one! Holy Grail is very good on it's own, but Red Burley pushes it toward perfection. I almost always change flavors on every tank, but find myself just refilling again and again.

All I can say is 'holy, holy RY4'. I love dessert tobacco's, but this is an entire different level. The DIY Flavor Shack better get used to shipping to GA. This is definitely an all day Vape for me. Squank worthy. 😀 The combination of the two tobacco's definitely makes this more authentic. Genius. Thank you for sharing this creation.

I'm not a dessert tobacco lover. I can't stand TFA RY4 Double at all, and am not particularly fond of the other RY4-types I've tried. But this stuff... This luxurious stuff is out-fucking-standing! I think this is everything that every standalone RY4 should be, but sadly isn't. I wish that HOLY HOLY GRAIL RY4 were more accessible, because this recipe should be many people's very first introduction to DIY juice. It would make believers out of them. It's that good.

I really enjoyed this blend. Holy Grail RY4 really is an amazing flavor. The Red Burley is a great addition to bolden that tobacco note in their. The Kentucky is slightly ashy, and I think it clashes with the RY4 in this for me. Its slightly sweet and melds well though. I think my next mix of this my be without Kentucky to try it out. Wanted to update the review and mention it really does come out best after the steep. It allows everything to just mix and sit correctly!
