OK, so this recipe is a remix of a fairly popular eLiquid that takes on a different state of matter for rocks. It turned out to be quite a challenge, and while there are still some differences between this recipe and theirs - I feel this recipe presents a more natural representation of the flavors.

The profile is fairly basic: Strawberry, Pineapple, and Coconut. What I get from the commercial version is a very bold vape which has a rather strange Strawberry flavor, a very deep Pineapple, and a hint of Coconut in the background - all somewhat artificial, syrupy, and 'candy-ish'. My issue with the commercial recipe is it has an odd chemical note to it. It took many iterations to come up with this recipe. My first attempt was to use all TFA flavors, but that just was not even close. Over time I kept changing and layering flavors till I got to this recipe.

I do get a hint of TFA Pineapple in the commercial eLiquid, which might account to some of the chemical notes I get. I tinkered around a lot with the Pineapple flavors over the course of this formulation. My initial attempts centered around CAP Golden Pineapple for that deepness but it just did not seem to fit for some reason. I finally ended up using a little TFA Pineapple for that twang it has along with a blend of INW and VSO Pineapple to give it a very natural Pineapple juice character which is not as deep as the commercial liquid.

I'm somewhat a Strawberry mute, so it is always a challenge for me picking out particular aspects of Strawberry in a recipe. The OG eLiquid seemed to be a sweet and candy like Strawberry, but there was also some kind of bend to it that I could not put my finger on. I tried TFA Strawberry Ripe and TFA Strawberry to no avail. I eventually ended up with using JF Strawberry Sweet and INW Shisha Strawberry which tends to sit well in this recipe.

Most of my recipe variations centered around TFA Coconut as I do get that suntan lotion vibe from the commercial eLiquid. After a while I switched to FA Coconut to get a more realistic Coconut representation in the mix. You could still go with TFA Coconut at around 2.5%. I also added FLV Coconut; not for the Coconut flavor, but to fill out the volume of the vape. I did find that the FLV Coconut did start to bend the Strawberry to the rather unique quality I get from the commercial product.

While I would love so say this recipe is very layered - it is not really. What eventually settles on the pallet is a Strawberry Pineapple flavor with a hint of Coconut that lingers on.

I developed this recipe using the Hadaly and OG Recoil RDAs. I found that higher wattage elevates some of the underlying flavors in both the commercial and this recipe (like Coconut). The Hadaly was running a 0.5 ohm fused Clapton coil at 32 watts, and the Recoil was running 0.18 ohm dual Clapton coils at 70 watts. I also tested this in a Wotofo SMM Serpent RDA running 38 watts on an 0.5 ohm fused Clapton coil. The brighter aspects of the Pineapple were somewhat missing from the RDA, but still a fine vape.
