For October's Mixers' Club prompt, I was tasked with revisiting my biggest failure of a recipe and making it work. When I first started mixing, I wanted to create a cola recipe without using any cola flavorings. From what I had gathered they were all pretty lackluster, and I wanted to solve a problem many people were facing. It was a tremendous error in judgement, and I wanted to abandon it completely. If Concrete River didn't make this eloquent challenge, and ID10-T didn't make his decision to conquer his fear, I wouldn't have accomplished a major goal and brought this to life.

Normally I would put a lot of development notes here, and explain why I made the decisions that ended up in the recipe, but I'm not going to do that with this one. I want you to mix it up if you're interested in an awesome cola recipe, and know that I put a lot of effort into it. Another part of the prompt was to explain what I'm doing differently now, which I think could benefit many people. The first major difference in my mixing was brought about by Jennifer Jarvis. I knew early on that she utilized smell quite a bit, but I didn't understand how important it was. I stopped making recipes with percentages and suggestions, and just started following my nose like Toucan Sam. I would try to elaborate, but I wouldn't do it justice. Just go find Jennifer Jarvis and she'll give you some amazing pointers.

Another major difference in my style is the application of vast amounts of information I have gathered. There are so many incredible resources on YouTube, Reddit, and Discord that have made my experience truly awesome. People that are willing to answer any question you can conjure, give suggestions on ways to make an idea work, and provide inspiration for creative new recipes. I'm very thankful for all of them, and I look forward to coming up with countless things for everyone to try.

I cut the WS-23 to a 1/4 percent for my personal liking. This is a very delicious vape! So glad I mixed it up! Visiting family in Texas and only brought a 30ml…should’ve mixed up a 60ml! Thank you for this, love it!!!

If you are looking for a good cola recipe, you should try this one. You should not expect a Pepsi or Coke because the style is more candy like. This may sound derogatory, but is not meant that way. Because the stuff is really good.

Holy Shiznet folks!! This is straight FIYA!!! Off the very aggressive shake i love this lol!! Im a glass bottle kinda guy, but this one might be most accurately made with plastic bottles, my scale hates identifying the .07 cinnamon. I dont care for cinnamon so i wanted to be as accurate as possible with it. But ill be dammed this is delicious!! Like others have said its like an amazing home-made cola flavor!! I did do just under. 75% super sweet because if i go under .75% i tend to add more anyways. I love love love this though!! Thankyou so very much for this masterpiece!! If your skeptical, just. do. it!!! 🥤🔥🥤 Update 5hrs later: This stuff is crack!! I cant put it down!!

Ms. Emotions 🖤I was expecting greatness and that’s exactly what I got. I looked at the ingredients and I though that this was kind of madness and there’s no way it’s going to taste like cola. But. Yes. It truly taste like cola, the sweet and the cola syrup. I followed the recipe exactly as published as I feel that this is one of those recipes that substitutes and percentages are very important for balance. Very well done 🖤

This recipe is the reason I picked up Flv Rich cinnamon. I'm sure glad I did. Such an amazing cola vape.

I'm here to echo the other statements - this is one mind-blowingly tasty and absolutely fascinating recipe. I was SFTing FA Vanilla Ice Cream at the same time. A drop of this and a drop of that tastes like a coke float. Really interesting to see the components of cola broken down like this Alfred - Thanks for the recipe, I love it. I wonder how some INW Lemons Kick would treat this. That's got the fizz.. I wonder if it would overpower it too much.. one way to find out...

I've made adjustments to WS23 -> 2drops per 30ml and increased CAP Super Sweet 2x and after nearly a week this stuff makes jaws drop... A legend and a masterpiece!

Amazing recipe, reminds me a lot of the Bottle Cap Candy honestly

I am not going to be able to add anything that others have not already said. It is straight up cola, and it is magical.

This is truly outstanding, vaping this with a smile on my face, reminds me of a juice called shrlup cold filtured I once bought and that was my absolute favourite ADV it as since been discontinued. I'm so happy you created this, thank you very much indeed 😁

This is the best damn recipe on this site. I was skeptical of the hype cuz off the shake it mostly tasted like a orange and cinnamon thing, but after a week - it's undeniably cola. To me it leans more toward Dr. Pepper than Coca-Cola, but that's just fine by me.

You are a fucking wizard. Compliments to the god damn chef.

Doubtless my own taste buds, but I don't really get "Cola". On the other hand, I can't identify what I do get. It sparkles and is one of the most unusual and delicious recipes I've ever mixed. So different than the typical strawberry, cream, rinse and repeat. Try it. Outstanding.

Wow this is definitely the closest Cola recipe ever. I went into it expecting Coca Cola, and even though it's not quite that level this is a really fantastic cola recipe. Definitely an ADV for anyone who likes colas.

Absolute brilliance! If you haven't tried this, then just do it; you will not be disappointed. I mixed this without the Cap Super Sweet, subbed with a combo of NN Monk Fruit & Stevia, and it is an amazing flavor profile, a great work. Then I poured some into a small 6ml and added 1 drop of DIYFS Clear Black Cherry, mind blown, the balance of flavors held it's place! You are a true master of mixing AlfredPudding, and I am truly grateful to have you as a mixing influence.

Very creative take on a cola. The VT Fizzy Sherbet makes an excellent base. The orange, cinnamon and bourbon blend well and give some spice and citrus notes. The usage of ws-23 was perfect to give this an ice like effect. Excellent job

I don't know how you did this, but wow. The way these flavors come together to give you that real cola taste is pure magic.

Really enjoyed this cola mix. Nice & refreshing. Made a Mango Cola recipe using your base. Turned out quite well. Thanks for a great base to work with.

You look at the list of flavors and think "no...this cannot be Cola." Well guess is. Seriously, this is the most impressive juice I've ever had the pleasure of vaping.

A painter can take primary colors and create secondary ones. This is an example of that being done using flavors at a fine level. Low percentage concentrates resulting in high flavor imagery of connoisseur's choice of cola.

I doubted the recipe but after vaping it, god damn it is the BEST cola EVER!!!!

HANDs down one the most impressive outright creative mixes I have had. Truly an out of the box approach. I am going to see what happens when I had some lime and rum to this mix :-) it is screaming to me to do it. ( lets get those 007 strap ons going shall we! ) Can someone say one shot deal for MR Pudding!!

Ws-23 is a bit high for my personal preference, but that's no fault of the recipe. This absolutely tastes like Coke to me. I don't know what kind of wizard you are but this is fantastic!

What is this mind-boggling wizardry!?! A delicious, satisfying cola recipe that mimics the experience of drinking cola much better than any of the individual cola flavorings I've tried. And better than any of the cola recipes I've tried that were aimed at correcting the deficiencies of those flavors. All without using any cola flavors. It's a masterpiece from the bubbles to the syrupy sweet base, with a just-right acidic bite and balanced cooling. It tastes like someone is showing off either an abundance of talent, a ridiculous amount of work, incredible luck, or some combination of those. I might have to dump my FA Cola and LB Cola Freeze and use a one-shot of 007 as my go-to cola flavor. If such a one-shot were for sale, I'd pay good money for it, but here it is being given away for free. We are not worthy.

This recipe might be the most amazing mix I’ve ever tried. I can’t believe it has a cola flavor looking at the ingredients. I sat down and smelled them all and can’t believe you picked out the components of cola. Mind blowing. It’s a delicious craft cola with some effervescent kick and the cooling is perfect. Now to figure out how to add cherry without ruining this masterpiece.

Big thumbs up on this recipe. Easily in my top 3 recipes this year. An awesome craft style cola, full of flavor and perfectly executed. I too found out fairly recently that cola is surprisingly a citrus based drink. It's amazing what effect color has on our taste perception. Anyways, excellent work on this recipe, will absolutely be re-mixing this one!

I mixed this up last night and tested it Today, This BLEW MY MIND!!! Expertly Crafted with Superbly Luxurious flavors coming from Just 5%?!?!!? A damn work of art to do what you have done! I have to agree with MrBurgundy, This is The best Cola recipe I have ever tried. This Tastes Like a Premium Old Tyme soda we have here called Frankies, this reminds me of a mix between the Frankies Cinnamon Cola and the Frankies Dandelion and Burdock Soda. Well Fucking Done!! Best 2018 Recipe for me so far because of everything from Flavor for percentages to how you concocted this recipe!

absolutely superb recipe and expertly crafted! i never knew what cola consisted of until i learned of this recipe, im off to mix some more! great work and thanks for the recipe :) :)

Excellent from the ground up recipe. It's definitely a cola but not a commercial cola like Pepsi or Coke. This has the bite of a gourmet crafted cola and is truly delicious. The spice of the cinnamon is there but you wouldn't know that it was cinnamon if you were unaware of the ingredients. The fizzy sherbet reinforces that citric acid perfectly when paired with the blood orange. It also gives it that candy bottle cap kind of feel straight off the shake. This fades and balances out after a steep. The choice of vanilla bourbon is genius too. Another brighter vanilla probably would have accentuated the cinnamon and citrus more instead of working to balance it. Absolutely fantastic recipe Alfred. Thanks for sharing.

I'm going to mix this up for sure. I really appreciate the advice you gave in place of flavour notes, I agree with it 100%. I have found myself breaking up flavours when I taste a drink or food that I want turn into a vapable liquid. To get to a Cola flavour built from scratch is outstanding stuff, congrats on the mix Alfredpudding. I can't beleive that this mix will taste like Cola, especially with the Blood Orange, whats that doing there? Can't wait!!! Maybe with some adjustments, the ever eluding, accurate Dr Pepper recipe might be possible? I'll definetly give it a go and share if successful.

Upon the shake this tastes a lot like cola bottle top candies, but after settling in it this turns into something even more amazing! It is not your regular cola flavor, it is more like going to a gourmet soda shop where they mix your drink from scratch with flavored syrups. It makes for a very unique and tasty experience. He nailed the fizz and coolness, and even more impressive is that he started at ground zero and never used a cola flavoring! The list of flavors may seem strange at first, but trust me, this is worth a try!

This is easily the best cola recipe I’ve tried. It’s untraditional in the most glorious fashion. Fizzy Sherbet provides a bright backdrop of citrusy sweetness, and Rich Cinnamon makes for such a delightfully strange pairing. I never would have thought those two flavors would get along, but Alfred managed to expertly balance them. Blood Orange slides right in with them, adding some dimension to the citrus base. The subtle spicy vanilla helps sell that darker caramel color. The bit of bite from Rich Cinnamon, the “fizzy” nature of the sherbet, and the ws-23 really give me a cool, foamy mouthfeel. It all comes together for a distinct cola flavor that has enough pizazz to keep you vaping it over and over again. It’s cool enough to be refreshing, but not so much that it blows you off your feet. All in all, this is a really well-balanced recipe. Making a cola from scratch is a daunting task, but you did it with style Alfred! Thanks for sharing.
