An Australian based spin on a dessert. From what I saw this is something many Aussies enjoy, so I figured with the theme of Fresh's show, this is what I would try. This is a great full flavor red apple, like biting into a fresh red one. The caramel/butterscotch blend gives a deeper caramel taste, its "slightly high" but the apple muscles to the top. Rose is a little high, but needs to be there due to blending from the apple and the pear. You can drop it and get an amazing caramel apple as well.
A lot of times i release recipes that are appealing to the public with short steep times and popular profiles well this isn't that. This recipe is more of something i made purely for myself in mind and more as a challenge because i tend to mix for fun by chasing harder more layered profiles when i am making juice.purely for myself. This is not really even a dessert or at least i dont think it is? I basically thought apple butter and creme brulee would taste great together and they did.. I will say i find this recipe goof after a week steep but its great after a long 2-3 weeks. I figured with fall approaching and the length of steep time that now was a good time to release this recipe. I used .50% flavor west sweetener i have also used tfa marshmallow for ethyl maltal instead of sucralose and both were good. With the marshmallow it is slightly muted by the use of ethyl maltal but still good i went all the way up to 2% with the marshmallow but I prefer it with the sucralose but use whatever sweetener you want to.its your call everyones taste is different.
For Week 7 - Feeling Heroic? The Year of Mixing Challenge -
My hero, the Eleventh Doctor. Out of the all the Doctor Who's I've watched Eleven is my favorite...cause bowties are cool. In the first episode as the new doctor, Eleven visits a young Amelia Pond where he finds he likes fish fingers and custard. Well I'm not making fish fingers and custard as a flavor, so I'm going with deep fried apple slices dipped in custard. So this inspired by recipe adds one of my favorite fruits - cause I'm not a super fan of strawberries.
Going for a straight fried apple dipped in a funnel cake type of coating, no cinnamon, no spices.
If you'd like to participate in the Year of Mixing find the Flavor-Pro group and join us for our weekly challenge - all mixers welcome - and there will be some prizes. You can find more information here http://flavor-pro.com/the-year-of-mixing/
Edit To Review updates: After it's steep of a little over a week, I decided the funnel cake should probably be lowed a little because it is just a little too heavy. The apple notes were brought up a touch, but not much and just a little more custard notes. Otherwise it is quite tasty. All changes have been made to the recipe as it reads now.
I was home sick with the flu today. I wanted something I could vape that would help with my sore throat and my sinuses so I finally got to bust out my menthol flavors (I'm not usually a menthol guy). FLV Red Apple is usually fairly dry by itself at this % but when backed by FA Fuji it helped create a very cool and sweet apple. So if you're home sick, feel like poop, but you still want to vape, give this a shot. I can personally say this is S&V certified.
