This started with a picture and recipe provided by my friend Modivin in the DIY eJuice discord from BBC food recipes. We decided to make sweet rice the star as this is a rice pudding. The VT Yoghurt drink makes adds a citrus cream to the rice and the bavarian cream gives it some thickness and mouthfeel. Next up was the accents. Needed a hint of vanilla, pistachio and cinnamon so I used those recipes a bit low for what they offer.
Profile: Papaya and cherimoya curd topped with pistachio
So I did a hangout with @Alfredpudding and I may have told him, that WF Cherimoya SC smells like fart. That may have made him a little upset and when @MaxSavage heard that, he may have gone a little upset too. So I promised them, to make something with WF Cherimoya SC.
My initial try had Cherimoya at 3% blended with 1% WF Passionfruit and FLV Milk & Honey at 1.25% - and then the rest of this recipe, minus the TFA Papaya.
That was NOT a hit and tasted really weird. The taste I get from Cherimoya is that it's sort of sweet, but right there at the back-end, it has this sort of hops flavor to it. That just didn't go well with either passionfruit nor milk & honey.
To tame the back-end flavor of hops a little, but to still keep it in, I dropped Cherimoya to 1.25% and added in TFA Papaya at 1.5%, as I felt it would fit with the exotic thing I was after - and boy did that do the trick!
The pistachio does a nice little dance with both the cherimoya and papaya giving it a little sweet nutty twist. FLV Sweet Coconut joins the dance, and it's a straight rave of flavors!
The cream binds it all together and makes so very delicious, smooth and round.
You can rip into this right off the bat! Want it more creamy, give it a day or 2.

Profile - Creamy Pistachio Ice Cream with Chunks of Pistachio.
Pistachio was the FOTW, Odie gave me the idea of taking the FOTWs and throwing them into The Ice Cream Trinity to see what happens. I didn’t have any Pistachio flavors on me at the time, so I jumped on BCF and ordered TFA Pistachio and WF Pistachio Cream. At the same time that I had whipped up a V1, @ID10-T messaged me asking how I felt about making a Pistachio Ice Cream. Apparently along with being a flavor Guru he’s a mind reader too. Now the pressure is on to get this right.
Version 1 – I started with The Ice Cream Trinity as the base. My SFTs of TFA Pastachio and WF Pistachio Cream were promising. I went with 5% TFA Pistachio and 2% WF Pistachio Cream. This was a really solid starting place but the dairy side of WF Pistachio Cream was drowning out all the work TFA was putting into the mix.
Version 1.2 – With some bullshitting with @staybert about this, he said after talking to @shyndo he went balls to the wall 8% TFA Pistachio and it worked out gloriously. It just needed something to round out the flavor being that high. TFA Vanilla Swirl already being in the Trinity covered that nicely. I dropped the WF Pistachio Cream to 1% hoping to still be able to grab the awesome flavor from it but not bring to much dairy to the table. Still, drowning under cream.
Version 2 – I took a new approach with this one and dropped the WF completely. Can it be that simple? 8% TFA Pistachio plus the Ice Cream? Not so much, it was a big improvement from V1 but I still wanted more of a pop from the nut.
Version 2.1 & 2.2 – Next attempt was to focus on the actual nut aspect. I went two different ways with this one. One version with .25% TFA Acetyl Pyrazine and one with .5% FW Hazelnut. Obviously FW Hazelnut has a bit of a milky/dairy side to it, but I was hoping keeping it down low enough would bring the nut with out the milk. V2.1 was just what I was looking for! V2.2….meh. Was good, but back to square one with too much dairy. Acetyl Pyrazine was they key for this for sure. .25% wasn’t doing exactly what I wanted so I bumped it up .5% and set it aside to steep. Came back to it a week later and it was fantastic!
Version 2.1 Tweaks – I was super happy with where the recipe was at but just for shits and giggles I wanted to throw a couple things at it and see what happened.
WS23 @ .5% - It was good, mimics the cold punch you get when you take a bite of ice cream. However, I agree with @ID10-T the cold is funky with the nut, and I feel it distracts from everything else. So scratch that.
FA Pistachio @.5% - Nope nope nope. Took this in a weird, dry, almost roasted direction.
So instead of going insane, and trying to fuck with something that was already delicious I settled on Version 2.1. The only other thing I’m possibly going to try is adding a bit of FLV Pistachio because I’ve heard its dead on authentic Pistachio which should work really damn good here.
LB VIC, HS FVIC, and TFA Vanilla Swirl - These make up the delicious Ice Cream Base. The Vanilla Swirl also helps round out the high percentage of TFA Pistachio.
TFA Pistachio - Well, this is kind of a given. A purely delicious and versatile Pistachio flavor. The absolute star of the show.
TFA Acetyl Pyrazine - I used this to boost up the nut aspect of TFA Pistachio up and over the Ice Cream.

Ever since I started vaping I've been fascinated by TFA Pistachio, the smell is just amazing, but I have never been able to find a recipe with a satisfying strong pistachio flavor. I have done countless bad attempts trying to nail down the Pistachio/RY4 combo (made famous by Charlie Noble), but almost all of them have ended up in the sink.
I did however have an epiphany when the legendary @shyndo released his recipe for his "Karl Custard" oneshot, where he not only uses TFA Pistachio at 8%, but also wrote an incdedibly helpful note on how to tackle the sharpness that such a high percentage of that flavour brings.
As I did not possess the flavors he is using, I started making my own version with 8% TFA Pistachio as a starting point, and with his notes as help. I also got some very encouraging words from him on the DYI_eJuice discord: "dont be afraid to push shit just because some pretentious bastard tells you he gets "off notes"".
So here I am. PUSHING!
TFA Pistachio: I set out to copy Shyndo by using this at 8%, to really bring that powerful yet creamy pistachio note.
TFA RY4 Double: At 4% it is just enough to force mute the heavy pistachio note to a perfect level, while bringing that lovely caramel tobacco note to the mix.
DFS Holy Vanilla: Creamy eggy wonderful vanilla. At 2% this also helps take the edge off the pistachio, but mainly blends it together to a lovely vanilla pistachio cream that you just want to eat out of a spoon.
FLV Milk & Honey: I would say this is optional, but I think it brings a complexity to the whole mix with that dark sweetness that works very well with the pistachio and tobacco notes.
Again I just have to thank @shyndo, who not only came up with this amazing recipe (Karl Custard), but also went out of his way to answer my questions and gave me invaluable advice on how to develop recipes. So please make sure to check out his Karl Kustard
Regarding steeping, this only gets better the longer it steeps. After a month this is incredibly tasty and the pistachio has blended perfectly with the rest.
If you want to add more tobacco flavor, don't add more RY4, but instead add @Fear 's Cardinal combo: 0.25% FLV Kentucky Blend and 0.75% FLV Red Burley.
TFA RY4D can be swapped for DFS Holy Grail RY4 at 7%, if you want you can also lower DFS Holy Vanilla slightly to make up for the extra cream that the Holy Grail brings.
Octarine, also known as the Colour of Magic or the King Colour. It is visible only to wizards and cats. It is generally described as a sort of greenish purple yellow colour. The only time non-wizards can see it is when they close their eyes; the bursts of color are octarine.
This recipie was inspired by @foment_life, who wisely said "I do love the idea of just toying around with a bunch of things that are just individually tasty and seeing what shakes out in the end."
Well, this is the result of that.
A thick creamy Pistachio Pudding with the right amount of sweetness.
Let's get the easiest stuff out of the way. I chose EM as my sweetener because it tends to thicken custards/puddings in addition to providing sweetness.
The pistachio portion of my pudding is formed with FA Almond, INW Marzipan, and of course TFA Pistachio. I purposely did NOT use FA Marzipan, as INW's version provides a more creamy feel.
Our 'pudding' base is formed with both FLV Vanilla Pudding and INW Shisha Vanilla. The INW SV adds a slight boost to the vanilla pudding which was very useful in this recipe.
STEEP: 9 DAYS(steeping with this particular mix is a must!)

The recipe for my Chefs Flavours one shot. Sorry I've been a bit late releasing these! As per the link: https://chefsflavours.co.uk/karl-custard-30ml-shyndo/ this is pistachio with aromatic ruyan custard and a spicy vanilla brown sugar finish. Basically my own loveletter to the pistachio ry4 profile just done a little differently. Using such a large amount of tpa pistachio on top of brown sugar can be quite sharp. Usually you would use your typical ry4 to force mute this a bit but WF vanilla Ruyan Custard lacks the "ethyl maltol mixing everything together" quality. So we use heaps of vanilla swirl to calm down the sharp edges and fill out the volume a bit. The star to me is actually the WF vanilla ruyan custard in that it's the only ry4 I've had that has such a distinctive "layer" to it. It stands out on its own and in its own place in the vape where something like tpa ry4 double would just BE the whole vape in combination with whatever flavors you use.
Well balanced smooth pistachio/apricot cotton candy with zero throat hit.
Firstly, the only cotton candy concentrate I could see used here is PUR Cotton Candy. This is because(unlike other brands) this is a smooth/strong flavoring with little to no throat hit. In addition, Purilum's CC doesn't taste muted 2-3 hits in, as has been my personal experience with other brands. This flavoring is truly a hidden gem.
I included CAP Vanilla Whipped Cream strictly for mouthfeel.
My pistachio layer contains TFA Pistachio(candy-like), FA Marzipan(more candy-like than INW) & FA Almond. I dont recommend subbing INW Marzipan here due to it being more creamy(cotton candy isn't creamy) and more 'cherry' tasting. FA Marzipan isn't creamy, and is more of a candied almond flavor(which benefits pistachio greatly).
FA Apricot(Armenia) was the best choice for my light fruity layer due to its' cooked/jammy quality. I wanted to keep this layer lighter than the cotton candy & pistachio layers so that it feels like a complementing accent to the pistachio. And I think at this percentage, this was achieved really well. FA Apricot also adds a "wet" quality to the overall mix to avoid dryness, as is often experienced with other cotton candy mixes.
FLV Sweetness was added because cotton candy is all sugar. This sweetener will achieve our desired effect without adding harshness, muting or coil-gunking properties. It will also taste more natural than other sweeteners. CAP SS will make it sickeningly sweet, EM(and Sugar Daddy) will mute the fuck out of this mix.
