Years ago there was these little jelly beans made by starburst called "Joosters" the pink ones were by far the best so here's my tribute to the little bastard.
pink guava by flv - flavorah were kind enough to send me a big haul of their concentrates for me to try and as soon as i smelt this it hit me instantly that it was the smell of a pink jooster, after tasting the concentrate my feeling was confirmed.
super simple recipe and super good tasting too! i have also experimented and added ws-23 to this, that too was a success.
if you enjoy candy recipes then you're probably going to enjoy this :)
This mix was truly inspired by Dazcole - Fantastic. I was after a more sugary soda mix, where Fantastic had some authentic notes to it. Originally "Fanta" that started in europe had a bit of orange juice in it, however today's recipe contains no orange juice. Fun lil fact for you right there.
This is smack you in the face orange - kind of like a malaysian style mix. If you mix this up, please let me know how you feel about it.
Blood Orange FW + Tanger FA + Shisa Orange INW - This is my orange base, and it creates a delicious sweet blood orange
Strawberry TFA - I used this here to help blend the fruits together
WS-23 - (20% Dilution) Cools everything down, gives you the sense that there is some fizzyness also
Jelly Candy - To help out with the body of the soda, and also sell a more candylike orange flavour
Cactus - Adds some wetness to the mix
Ive been craving a nice lite and Sweet Tangerine Citrus Juice for a good while now.
The 1st 2 versions did not work out too well as the citrus combo I was using seemed to have homogenized into a PET bottle Nuke of note, Its Cracked 3 PET Bottles in One day alone so I had to try a few different Citrus combos to get the right profile flavor profile. I also always had an issue with the texture profile of the juice, So I added some jelly to make my Fresh Fruit a Fresh Fruit Jelly.
The Sweet Tangerine was the main profile I was aiming for so I started with that and built the other citrus around this. Sweet Tangerine just has that Great Light and Clear; Sweet Citrus without killing it on that tart side.
Blood Orange I used here to push a bit more of that Vitamin C vibe from a sweet ripe Orange. I just boosts the Tangerine profile some more.
Lemon Sicily layers that Zesty Pop into the middle and and stretches the freshness into the steep
Well its for a Jelly Texture that candifies this Fresh Fruit.
using it as the blender and also to soften the Citrus Harshness with the Combo of Oba Oba.
Fruits can sometimes be quite flat, this is where I normally use a cream like cream fresh, but here I needed something different to work with the Citrus in the same way as Cream backdrop but without any milky/dairy notes. Oba Oba has a special subtle fizz that compliments and boosts a vibrant fruit in strange ways. The magic about this is that it does something special in a different way with different fruits, here is Pushes that Thickness of the Jelly Candy and also works with the Peach to Bind and Shave off some harshness.
**This recipe was inspired by a few techniques I saw from a Few amazing mixers who used some of these concentrates in awesome ways, So All credit to the DIY Community with people like Ediblemalfunction , Dazcole and Chrisdvr1 and of course Richard (RichJB) for all his advice and pointers on some issues I had with this one!
- Added 0.44 TPA Marshmallow
- Dropped the Jelly Candy from 3.33 to 1.77
Alright ppl since its almost time for Halloween I figured that I would go with a gummy that everybody loves this time of yr and what better way of getting gummy worms injected with a variety of fruits in the middle gushing out at ya and blue raz and tangerine will gush when you bite into the gummy worms so Happy Halloween everyone mix this up and enjoy
SA Vapecon has a DIY comp every year - this year I entered for the first time, the rules of the competition was that it was a total blind test - and also people that attend the trade-show test, no recipe information was given out - or mixer names etc (totally blind). We were also limited to a set amount of concentrates. The final product was also tested in sub ohm tanks, which added another point to consider. This was my entry, I didn't win the compo - but fuck it I love it so here you go.
INW Cactus To add some wetness, and also boots the citrus notes of Juicy Lemon
LB Pink Lemonade - Just a nice pink base to work from, wont work as a main note
CAP Jelly Candy - Making everything a bit more artificial and soda'like
RF Strawberry - What a lovely strawberry, works well in a lemonade.
WS23 - I used a 20% dilution in this mix, also helps with the fizzyness.
This is a sugary soda, and the recipe has a commercial feel to it - you can sweeten, and cool to your liking. But consider its purpose when doing so! Hope you enjoy!
This is my strawberry grape soda mix, I really enjoy this simple recipe - and after all the mixes I test and compare, I eventually come right back to this one, almost just like good old missionary - just kidding. This is a shake and vape, you will find it starts off a bit more Grape forward, but then as time goes by you will taste the strawberry coming through. These two fruits just "jel" well together - I wont call it blending ;)
This is a sweet sugary soda...... yeah, I have a crazy sweet tooth.
TFA Strawberry Ripe & CAP Strawberry Sweet & TFA Strawberry = My syrupy strawberry stone
CAP Jelly Candy = Adds a bit of texture, also adds some candy vibes to the soda.
WS23 = Closest thing to a cold fizz you going to get. (I used a 20% dilution in my mix)
I Wanted to take few of my favorite concentrates of 2018 so far and make one Big flavor Bangin Bomb!!
I created this with some of my favorite concentrates that Ive used in recently with the aim to get an amazing juice with all the best notes that each concentrate has but also while complementing the best aspects about these flavors and that falls right in MY Preference of a fruity candy juicy profile, and I say that's exactly what it is.
Its Sweet, Sour, Juicy and Jelly! Im sure a Jelly or Candy fan will Love this!
This is my favourite juice that I have made so far.
It’s simple. It’s easy. It’s pretty sweet.
(TPA) grape juice and (TPA) grape candy go well together to make a fairly synthetic/candy grape flavour. (CAP) jelly candy assists with this. I don’t really know what to say about (TPA) black currant... I suppose it’s kind of like Ribena and helps to round the flavour off nicely, I think. You can take or leave the koolada. That’s really a personal choice. It doesn’t alter the flavour profile, but I think it helps to make the whole thing pop.
You could use this as a shake and vape... I do. But I also usually make a second (bigger) batch to let it steep. I don’t usually touch that bottle until about 2 weeks.
Mix this one up, you will not regret it. As always, enjoy, and let me know how you feel about it.
FORTUNE FLAVORS THE BOLD!
Are you brave enough to try this? It's modeled after the tangy, sweet, and spicy frozen Mexican confection. Doesn't taste quite the same, but scratches the same itch for an icy spicy treat. I used both WS-23 and Polar Blast for a well-rounded inhale and exhale cooling, and lots of it.. For the spiciness of chamoy, there's FLV Heat and Apple Filling. The cinnamon in apple filling doesn't quite taste like cinnamon used so low with other strong ingredients, but it gives some body to the heat so it's not just disembodied capsaicin-type heat. The gooey apple part contributes to Jelly Candy and Sweet and Tart creating something reminiscent of the sweet and tangy part of chamoy. Jelly Candy also helps clean up some of CAP Sweet Mango's overripe nonsense. Super Sweet, like Apple Filling, also does double duty. Besides the obvious sweetening, it helps drag that Heat onto the lips and tongue and makes it linger, resulting a long-lasting fire and ice sensation. Finally the mangoes. I was surprised how much how much FLV Mango and CAP Sweet Mango it took stand up to all this other stuff, but with each new version I kept adding more and more until it worked. I also tried using VT Shisha Mango but it was too piney that didn't play well with the rest of the mix.
