The fleshy berries of the black persimmon are edible and sweet when ripe and are used in puddings and custards. They are known in Spanish as chapote, chapote manzano, or chapote prieto. What better as to use these as a standalone or also as a good flavor stone, which you can put in your pudding or custard or even on a good donut.
