This is a pineapple - banana - coconut smoothie with almond milk!
The smoothie: Milkshake Base VTA + Vanilla Ice Cream LB create a great base for starting most milkshakes/smoothies. Adding Coconut Custard WF + Creamy Custard VTA and Avocado Cream VTA is what makes this recipe a creamy smoothie and not a milkshake.
The almonds: Almond FA + Amaretto Sour FLV combined bring tangy almond top notes, pairing great with most fruits.
The toppings: The most prominent topping in this recipe is the Sugarloaf Pineapple VTA, making this recipe rather pineapple heavy at 2%. Banana Custard brings banana to the top, while supported by Creamy Custard and Avocado Cream you can also find banana throughout the whole body of the recipe. Sweet Coconut FLV is not enough to make coconut a main component of this recipe, adding a very sublte coconut flavour. It is mainly added in the mix to tame the pineapple and amaretto sour a little.
A rich, thick and sweet banana honeycomb milkshake.
WF banana purée in my recipe again shows how much I prefer it to all other bananas, it’s so realistic and gives a full mouthfeel along with that creamy custard which layers the banana beautifully this gives you the ultimate banana with a thick mouthfeel perfect in this sort of profile.
The FA milk, TFA whipped cream and FLV frosting give that sweet and fluffy milk which sits there from start to finish, emphasis on the finish!
The VTA honeycomb even at 5% is not the star of the show but makes a great partner to the banana, everyone knows banoffee is a classic and Honeycomb is cinder toffee so say hello to the new classic combination ;) (al Pacino voice)
The Super sweet is there for my personal taste but keep in mind it is subjective and you can add and subtract sweetener from this mix and it won’t take anything away from it. Buttery crumbly pastry, a layer of jam and banana, filled with custard and topped with coconut.
I’m a huge fan of a method I call the “two birds method”, showcased here by using the VTA creamy custard to aid the custard element and also that banana note without using a banana titled concentrate.
The custard - creamy custard, premium and Devon cream make up the custard here, the creamy custard adds a basic custard taste, mouthfeel and that banana note. The FA premium adds another layer and Is brilliant at lower levels of the spectrum and the Devon cream transforms all of that into your typical tinned custard taste.
The jam - VTA raspberry jam is a killer concentrate but needs help here to prolong that raspberry taste on the tongue so good old raspberry sweet comes to the rescue, both concentrates together along with super sweet give that jammy taste.
The pie crust - the apple pie, biscuit and zeppola make up the pie crust here, there’s something in zeppola that to me adds a “crumble” mouthfeel at lower percentages, along with INW biscuit, FA zeppola also has a slight coconut note which helps the coconut out by giving it another dimension.
The coconut - fairly explanatory... the FA coconut adds a nice coconut taste while making the whole vape fresh and moist, along with the zeppola it’s a really good coconut flavour that I’m happy with.
Please rate and review if you make it 😊
