There wont be very many notes with this. After experimenting with adding some CAP Licorice to some IRL carbonated water and simple syrup, I knew I had to put this idea into a juice. Dead simple here, Its Staybert's Soda Base + KittyBit's euro licorice combo. Weird combination for sure, but if you like REAL licorice flavor, you'll no doubt enjoy this.
Inspired by all my Black Fever Club fellows, and especially u/Kittybit, I set out to deliver a mouth punching licorice "murdered-out" mix. Its Blackberry Licorice with a little special something-something thrown in from TPA Horehound. Its definitely one of my weirder mixes, but I like when I get weird. If you like real licorice, give this a try for something new.
Let the drums of war sound as we march into battle in the frozen lands!
Since I did Frost Punk, I wanted to combine FLV Peppermint with licorice. It's black as night and cold as winter. I guess it kinda describes my mood sometimes.
The licorice is my own little combination.
I find CAP Licorice at 2% and FA Black Touch at 1% very fitting for your typical european style licorice. Just about enough salmiak and anise to make it great.
FLV Peppermint adds hefty and cold mint that goes well with the black tones of licorice.
FA Meringue adds a little sweetness and texture to the mix.
Add sweetener of your own choice if you like.
Super simple no bullshit recipe.
SnV worthy, but I tend to let FLV Peppermint sit overnight or a 24h period to kinda balance itself.
Licorice and Coconut is a great combination. Coconut and Blackcurrant is a great combination. Throw all three together and you get one of the best flavor profiles I've done so far. Already vaped through 200 ml of this goodness. Let's get into the nitty-gritty:
FA Black Touch - In my opinion the only good Licorice on the market, especially for a real, non-candy Licorice flavor. 3% might sound like a high percentage at first glance, but cut the dosage and it loses a lot of its presence in the mix.
INW Blackcurrant & CAP Black Currant: Inaweras take on the flavor is by far my favorite. It's not too sweet and has the right amount of sourness. Capellas Blackcurrant helps to give the profile even more fruitiness.
CAP Coconut & TPA Coconut Candy: I've tinkered with these a lot in the first batches. 2% for both turned out to be the exact sweet spot I was looking for. Capellas Coconut is needed to give the right Coconut texture, TPAs Coconut Candy bolsters it nicely and gives the mix much needed sweetness. A positive side effect of TPA Coconut Candy is that we don't need any sweeteners in this recipe.
I like to add 1% WS-23 (10% dilution in PG). You can decrease the amount or leave it out completely, you call.
Steep time is AT LEAST 7 days. No SNV!
Hope you enjoy and have a nice vape!
Profile: Black licorice and dark berry candy - flavor of my childhood.
Was a bit up and down with this one to get the licorice balanced correctly. Goal was to get some anise and some salmiak but not too much of either.
First version contained 2.5% FA Black Touch and 1% CAP Licorice - Too much anise and too little (none really) salmiak.
So I took FA Black Touch down .5% and added that .5% to the CAP Licorice - great success!
Next up was to balance the berries.
First version I used 1% FLV boysenberry, 0.5% FA Blackcurrant and 2% WF Sour Blue Raspberry Candy.
The Sour Blue Raspberry Candy added some good taste, but sadly brought along some perfume as well, which I didn't care much for.
After talking it over with @nowar - who suggested CAP Jelly Candy (lots and lots of credit to him for that), Sour Blue Raspberry Candy was scrapped in favor.
Second version - now with @nowar onboard, we felt the berries lacked a little, so we added another .25% to the FLV Boysenberry and struck gold!
Powdered sugar is mainly there to help the FLV Boysenberry with the taste of candy.
CAP Super Sweet does not need an explanation why its there.
To me this taste just like my childhood, where to @nowar this taste like adulthood - thought that was a funny little quote to have in.
Where I come from, a mixture of black licorice and berries is not unheard of - in fact, it's very common and kids do enjoy that flavor a lot.
Please do enjoy!
Easy to mix, hard to define.
Actually it's not that hard to define, I just thought that sounded cool. The taste is very similar to a licorice ice cream, but with a bit thicker mouthfeel. Personally I think this can be shake and vaped. The vanilla note is a bit more prominent the first few days, but as always with custards they start to shine after a bit of a steep.
FA Black Touch it a great licorice flavor that is very much like Scandinavian licorice candy.
FA Custard Premium is not available in the US AFAIK, but you guys don't seem to like black licorice either so I guess thats fine. Here's a couple of European sites that sell it:
UK - https://chefsflavours.co.uk/custard-prem-flavourart/
Denmark - https://dindamp.dk/en/flavourart-aroma/1283-2622-flavourart-premium-custard-aroma-originalemallage.html
This is very much a work in progress, but I wanted to share it anyway because I enjoy it a lot, and I think it's a bit unique. I think a lot of Northern Europeans are going to like this. Feedback is very much apriciated! Keep mixing wierd stuff all you beautiful folks out there <3
Smooth Black Licorice Mint Vape! Mellow licorice with a mint kicker. If you like mint and licorice you will love this. The (FA) Black Touch has that goodness of Old Time Aussy Licorice and the edition of (FA) Anise brings it up a notch. Adding the (CAP) Peppermint gives it a freshness and light clean minty backside. The (FA) Mint Candy adds a touch of sweet mint to round out the mint profile. If you are looking for a refreshing mint licorice vape I don't hink you can go wrong with this one!
