Note/disclaimer : I know this is my fourth published recipe in recent weeks, but my time to play with flavors and mixes is limited. I teach elementary school and leading up to and being on break this past week have afforded me a little more wiggle room. These mashups/remixes are thoughts I've had while not having time to mix new recipes (usually on the car ride to and from work). Also, my second remix of Cardinal . . . the perfect RY4. I'm still tinkering with some original mixes: a pear/custard cornbread tart and a blueberry-basil/almond pie. I just have more tweaking to do.
Another mash up with some remixing . . . Twisted Obsidian by ENYAWREKLAW (obsidian is black) and Cardinal by Fear (cardinals become Popes).
The name can be seen as commonplace, as it's another name for the head of the Jesuits (or Praepositus Generalis). Conversely, it can be read more ominously referring to St. Malachy's 12th century prophesy that said there would be 112 more Popes, with the last one being the “black Pope,” ushering us toward the end times. Regardless of how you read it, I just enjoyed the play on the original recipe names . . . and the picture is actually Saint Ignatius of Loyola (the first Black Pope of the Jesuits).
Twisted Obsidian: FLV Cookie at 3%; changed up the graham cracker, dropping GC Clear (1.5%) in favor of FLV Graham Cracker (0.75%) and CAP Graham Cracker (1%) . . I like the hint of cinnamon I get from CAP and the additional texture from the FLV; dropped FA Butterscotch for FLV Butterscotch (1%), which I think goes well with the cream, custard, and caramel of the RY4; omitted the RY4 Double (3%) for the superior Holy Grail Ry4 at 4%; dropped CAP VC (0.5%) to amp up the creamy custard aspect with INW Custard at 1.5% and Devon Cream at 1% (automatic custard mixed with the marriage of cream and vanilla).
Cardinal: I used the Holy Grail RY4 as a replacement for RY4 Double in Twisted Obsidian, dropping the original percentage from 8 to 4. It also plays real well with the Custard, Devon Cream, and Butterscotch. I dropped the FLV Red Burley from 0.75% to 0.5%, and omitted FLV Kentucky Blend in favor of FLV Native Tobacco and brought the percentage up to 0.5. Red Burley is great with just about anything you throw it at, and I really dig the slightly spicier note of the Native.
I'm calling it a shake and vape even though I mixed it up yesterday while watching football and waited until today to try it. I mixed it 60vg/40pg. Another dessert vape . . . creamy, caramel custard with some spicy notes of tobacco and cookie.
Well Cuzzin Carl was a simple fellow. He liked to fish, and he was a fan of the simpler things in life. One thing that he always had though, was a flask of his homemade strawberry and banana flavored moonshine handy. This custard is a tribute to Cuzzin Carl and all of the simple things in life.
Now on to the actual description. This is an extremely dark strawberry and banana custard. Simple. But here's where things get really weird. OK, to start off with, I may have been a little bit high when I came up with this one. I did not expect such a seemingly simple, yet complex vape to come from my inebriated brain. I love the extra warmth and hints of cinnamon and caramel that the CAP Graham Cracker gives to the TFA Banana Cream. CAP Vanilla Custard is, of course, a staple at 4%. I also love the combo of the TFA Strawberry and Strawberry Ripe.
I live in Mobile, AL which is where Mardi Gras was originated. NOTE: Before you New Orleans Louisianians get upset, just do your research! The Spanish called Mobile, AL home way before they ventured down to Louisiana... The Banana Moon Pie is a staple of Mardi Gras so I had to make this flavor perfect, especially with it being one of my favorite snacks to catch and eat at Parades. Even though it is very simple it is very good! Mix it up and let me know what you think...
This recipe is a Dulce De Leche flavor with a touch of malt and cinnamon
Recipe made for "(OOO) Cream PG Milky Undertone" Flavor Book Entry
This mix was adapted from Adam Biondo's "My vanilla custard" submitted in the first DIY or DIE comp and was a final 3 contender. I don't know how to link the recipe, but definitely check his out. I didn't have to do too much to it so he definitely gets the credit. I see a lot of people asking for custard recipes so I wanted to share this. His mix was what turned me onto this profile. It just needed some changes to better fit what I wanted.
If you don't have the Cream Charlotte you can just leave it out, it's good either way. I like it because it helps push that dense bakery note and has a rich quality I haven't found in another flavoring, it's one of a kind...and no doubt loaded with DA/AP.
I vape this mix more than anything else and I'm constantly tweaking it is why I never released it. The CAP graham cracker with the butter pecan adds perfect dimension to this and can't be subbed. The original uses TPA brown sugar at .75% but I prefer that dark note that this needs from FLV Milk & Honey...brown sugar can be obtrusive. Don't be afraid to play with this, or any recipe you like. That's why we DIY, to get exactly what we want. If you love custards and bakeries as much as me, I suggest you get cream Charlotte. Mix this up my custard addicts...it's seriously amazing!
The FW yellow cake can be subbed for JF if you don't want to use it.
As with all heavy mixes, they get better with time. I actually like this a lot at one week, but if you can push it 2+ weeks you'll love it even more.
Just a delicious Fall recipe fo yo ass... Autumn/Winter is my all time favorite time of year. It's the time to start putting away all the fruity, light flavors and once again start breaking out the heavy custards, creams and bakeries (my specialty). So, to start it off I decided to share this little number. A tasty almond custard RY4. Very simple recipe and a pretty basic profile. Nonetheless, it's freakin' scrumptious and perfect for that Fall vaping. Throw a hoodie on and walk the leaf invested streets. Give this baby some time, the custard needs it as does the tobacco. 10 days and you're golden Pony Boy..
FLV Milk & Honey and CAP Graham Cracker really bump up the almond custard flavor here. The graham even brings a bit of cinnamon without even having cinnamon, I love it. But anyways, give it a shot, I promise you won't be disappointed.
